The Rev. Dudley Riggle

Noted as one of Carthage’s “most treasured faculty,” the Reverend Dr. Dudley Riggle, professor emeritus of religion, served Carthage College from 1961 to 1998. Rev. Riggle began his time at Carthage as campus pastor from 1961 through 1980, and then became a professor of religion and later served as department chair. In 2016, Rev. Riggle was honored with the Carthage Flame award, the College’s highest honor given during commencement ceremonies. 

Rev. Riggle has remained an active member of the Carthage community. Below you can watch video recordings of previous lectures he’s led for the College. 

 

Living with Losses and Living with Hope

In 2011, Rev. Riggle gave a lecture entitled “Living With Our Losses and Living With Hope.” This lecture was given and recorded during an Alumni College gathering and has been shared via DVD with members of the Carthage community who experience loss. We are so pleased now to be able to share it with you in this digital format that is suitable for sharing.

We are also grateful that Rev. Riggle has added a new introduction to his message that addresses the many challenges and trials we have all experienced during 2020.
